11月9日下午，當川普擊敗希拉蕊當選美國總統的消息引爆全世界熱議時，中國搜尋網站巨頭百度CEO李彥宏在百度貼吧「李彥宏吧」中發貼提問：「從今天起，世界的創新中心會從矽谷轉向中國？」他並分享了一篇題為「百餘矽谷精英公開信：川普是創新的災難」的報導。
新浪財經昨（12）日報導稱，李彥宏的發貼雖然表態委婉，但透過分享矽谷精英們的觀點，並結合川普當選美國總統這一大事件，不難猜測出他要表達的觀點。
報導稱，在李彥宏看來，因為川普奉行孤立主義的政策，對科技創新一直抱以消極態度，其當選美國總統後，將導致矽谷科技創新環境的惡化，而中國特別是互聯網領域則有希望成為世界創新的中心。
據了解，在川普參加此次美國總統大選期間，矽谷的投資人、創業者和技術精英們就毫不掩飾對他的厭惡之情，甚至聯名發表公開信稱川普如果當選，「對於創新將是一場災難」。
